Doll Skirt

As I finish up orders I'm also testing some patterns for a couple different pattern designers. Today I'm sharing with you a skirt from the Simple Ruffle Skirt for 18" dolls by Nicole at Cole's Corner and Creations. This pattern is super simple and goes together in less than 30 minutes. The pattern has not been released yet, but I'll be sure to let you know when it is available. Isn't it cute!! Thanks Nicole for a super quick pattern!! This is Nicole's first pattern, but I hear she is working on more!!

Don't you just love my dolls hair? It is in need of a good brush. At the suggestion of Nicole, I think I'm going to to wash and condition her hair and then "attempt" to comb/brush it out. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know!!



Off to water my garden and then finish the other two patterns I'm testing. I'll have pictures to show you the finished products tomorrow. If I'm productive today I'll also have a shopping cart cover and two appliqued shirts to share with you as well!!

Christening Outfit and some new items....

I've been busy trying to get all my orders done so I can move onto sewing for my family before vacation. We are taking the kids to Disney, to see my Grandparents and to the beach. I'm really looking forward to the time away, but not to the LONG hours in the car. I've got a long list of things I would like to sew for the kids, as well as for myself. So, this week I am finishing up my orders and moving onto my long list. Oh, I almost forgot, I'm also going to be working on some of my own patterns. The first one is a purse/backpack combo. My friend requested on for her trip to Disney with her husband and daughter in October, so I drafted a pattern and plan on making one for myself before my trip to Disney so I can test it out and see if I need to make any changes. I'll show some pictures when I have the first test done!

This past week I spent a lot of time on this Christening outfit for my friend's son. He is getting baptised Memorial Day weekend. I made her daughter's Christening Gown last year, which you can see here. I did not draft a pattern for this outfit, I used McCall's 3063. Both this outfit, the Christening Gown and all accessories were made out of my friend's wedding dress. It is very nerve racking cutting into something so special, so I always have to build up my nerve before I cut my first piece. Anyway, here is the completed outfit and shoes (hoping the shoes fit the little guy!!).

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while!!

As you have noticed I haven't been very good about blogging lately. Life is busy and I haven't taken the time to blog. Expect this summer to be about the same since the kids will be home with me 24 hours a day very soon. My daughter has about 2 weeks of preschool left and my son will finish up kindergarten June 2. During the month of June I won't be working on any custom orders. I will be spending time with my family and taking some much needed vacations.

I'm closing out custom orders today and will probably open them back up the last week of June. I'll be back to working on custom orders after July 4. If you have something you would like to order and don't need it until July, feel free to e-mail me any time to place your order so you are at the top of the list. Once I finish the current list of custom orders I'll be taking some time to sew for me and my family. I have a long list of things I would like to make for the kids, some new patterns I've been wanting to try out, so I will hopefully have lots of pictures to share, along with new products you can order. I also hope to work on my own patterns....we'll see how much time I have!! :)
